 The Voyager

The current Bookmobile was acquired through a grant from the Oregon State Library in 1998. The Bookmobile received its name, The Voyager, from a contest that was held among local school children at the time. It is 25 feet long and was built by the Ohio Bus Company on a school bus chassis. It holds over 2,000 items for all ages.

The Voyager makes monthly stops at various elementary schools, daycare centers, private schools, and retirement homes in Malheur County. Books may be checked out from the Bookmobile with a current Ontario Library District library card. Adults and children are welcome at all Bookmobile stops. Check out the online Bookmobile Calendar to find a Voyager stop near you.

Please remember all library rules do apply. Patrons of the Bookmobile may request items and place holds. Bookmobile books can be returned to the libraries in Ontario, Vale and Nyssa if patrons wish to do so. It is funded by the Ontario Library District and Malheur County budgets.

If you have questions, comments or you would like to make a request please contact the Library at 541-889-6371 or email at: ontariobookmobile@gmail.com.
