A Virtual Program

A New Summer Reading Experience

This year the Ontario, Nyssa and Vale Libraries will be working together to bring you an amazing summer reading experience. Summer Reading will be held primarily online due to Covid-19 concerns and social distancing.

All patrons of the Ontario Community Library, Voyager Bookmobile, Nyssa Public Library and Vale Emma Humphrey Library are eligible to participate in all programs provided this summer. All patrons can use the Ontario Community Library website to sign-up online for summer reading program if they choose or sign-up at any of the participating Libraries on a limited basis. Prizes for all raffles and programs will be displayed online at the Ontario Community Library Website and pictured at each library. Raffle tickets can be turned in to the libraries, mailed or placed in an envelope and put in the Library’s Book Drops.

The children’s coloring contest will also be available for download and can be sent to the libraries by mail, placed in an envelope and put it the drop boxes or delivered in person. In-house programs are limited, however each library has come up with great online presentations and videos available for everyone. Watch each library’s Facebook page and website for information about online story times, craft demonstrations and other activities. Ontario Community Library is currently unable to hold crafts in the library. Families with children can pick up crafts to take home on Wednesday afternoons between 2:30 and 3:30 pm during the program dates.

The Ontario Community Library will continue to have curb-side services throughout this time to assisted those individuals under health restrictions. Please call the Ontario Community Library (541-889-6371) for more information on this service.

As restrictions relax, the libraries will host in-house events, increase services and hours. Please watch for any changes in library hours and services to be advertised on social media, websites and event flyers.
